In cooperation with the leading scientific and educational centres of Europe and North America, EthnoExpert implements research projects in the field of Arctic studies, environmental management and sustainability in relation to industrial development and ICT innovations.
In 2013, EthnoExpert was selected to perform the research works on the “Demonstration of a Tripartite Agreement / Dialogue between the Indigenous Population, public authorities and energy companies” for the needs of the project “Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation into Russia’s Energy Sector policies and operations”, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
We help companies who work in the construction, mining and oil & gas industries to build effective policies in the area of sustainable development, including risk identification and management, environmental and social impact assessment, and long-term sustainability strategies for cooperation with interested parties.
EthnoExpert is a long-term partner for the project aimed to contribute to the restoration and sustainable management of degraded peatlands in order to reduce fire incidents and GHG emissions from drainage in European Russian peatlands. Works are financed under the International Climate Initiative (ICI) by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU), facilitated through the KfW German Development Bank (Project number 11 III 040 RUS K Restoring Peatlands), and implemented by Wetlands International.
In order to contribute to global environmental issues and Arctic biodiversity conservation efforts, EthnoExpert performs works in the northern remote regions, promoting sustainability principles for regional planning and policies for natural resource use.
Our goal is to help our clients identify standards that should be applied in the development and integration of ICT products and services. We introduce measures to improve the environmental performance of ICT, particularly in terms of sustainability within the social surroundings of the project. By focusing on the responsible acquisition, maintenance, use and disposal of ICT services, we aim to utilise ICT resources at the highest efficiency level.
Another focus of the EthnoExpert ICT Sustainability services is our clients’ effective use of ICT to promote more sustainable practices in business operations and management strategies, supporting economic profits for the industry and social benefits for the community.
