Educational conference “Sustainable Development Week” took place at the Faculty of Economics of the Saint-Petersburg State University on March 18-22. Antonina Evteshina, EthnoExpert’s Manager, took part in the conference as an expert and a jury member in the case-championship.

The first event of the “Sustainable Development Week” was a plenary discussion about the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the society, education and science development in modern Russia. Leading experts in the field of economics and ecology, and business representatives took part in the discussion. Antonina’s report included a review of the SDGs concept.

All events held within the framework of the “Week” focused on expanding students’ knowledge and competences in the field of sustainable development. The events included open lectures on sustainable production, conscious consumption and recycling, a video contest, case-championship and the “GlobalGoalsJam” event.

17 Sustainable Development Goals were adopted at the 70th UN General Assembly in 2015. They are an official guideline and represent a comprehensive program of action that can help the world community in working together to create a better future in the period up to 2030.
